Pear Honey & Cheese Tart
Day 1:"Pear", Honey & Fetta Tart Kick off our 12 Days of Christmas Recipes with something simple yet elegant. A Pear, Honey & Fetta Tart by @mamanutrition that looks impressive but takes barely any effort (our favourite combo). Using sweet, in-season pears from our Aussie farmers, this tart hits that perfect balance of creamy, salty and caramelised. It’s budget-friendly, quick to prep, and ideal for holiday hosting when you want to wow your guest. Pro tip: Make two. One for the table… and one for you.
Ingredients
Everything for 3 servings
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
- 2 small pears, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup Persian fetta or soft goat’s cheese, crumbled
- 2 tbsp pine nuts
- A few sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
- 1–1½ tbsp honey (to taste)
- Pinch of sea salt
Method
Preheat your oven to 180°C (fan). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Lay the pastry sheet on the tray. Using a fork, prick the centre lightly, leaving a small border around the edges.
Arrange the pear slices evenly over the pastry, then scatter with the fetta, pine nuts and herbs. Drizzle with honey and season lightly with salt.
Bake for around 20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden and the pears are tender.
Allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
