The Farmers Pick Fridge range includes premium meat, poultry, seafood and dairy options. We’re offering responsibly sourced, fresh cuts that complement our existing range of rescued produce.
Since launching 5 years ago, we’ve rescued over 10 million kilos of imperfect produce from going to waste. Along the way, we’ve spoken with all kinds of farmers, including those who raise livestock.
Whilst meat and produce are grown differently, they face the same issue: big corporations control the supply chain, valuing efficiency over quality and good farming practices. The result? We’ll all pay more for lower quality and lose our connection to the hardworking farmers behind our food.
After hearing these frustrations on repeat, we knew it was time to act - hence “The Fridge” was born.
Great question! Our meat and dairy items aren’t rescued or wonky.
Our products come from farmers we trust, people with decades of experience and a deep commitment to following livestock farming best practices.
We’ve even built our own processing facility to take things even further. That means we have complete control over quality, freshness, taste, and how we source our meat without having to answer to big corporations.
Yes! You can subscribe to The Farmers Pick Fridge items through your Farmers Pick subscription service, just like you do with our produce boxes.
With fridge items, you have more flexibility to curate your selection based on your needs. Whether you’re after meat, poultry, dairy, or seafood deliveries, you can choose the items that suit your household and have them delivered fresh to your door.
There is a minimum order threshold of $79 for fridge products. To unlock this, simply add fridge items to your upcoming order in the customer portal by curating your fridge box, adding items to your next order. For items you eat regularly—such as mince, chicken fillets, or lamb cutlets—you can subscribe to have them added to every box.
If you don’t meet the minimum order threshold in your cart, you won’t be charged for the items, and the fridge order will be pushed to your next scheduled order. This way, you can easily manage your fridge products alongside your regular orders without worrying about missing the minimum.
Ordering your next box of meat is simple! Just log into your Farmers Pick account, and you’ll be able to add fridge products, just like you add pantry items to your order. If you’re part of our special subscriber-only group with early access to fridge products, you’ll see a “Meat & Dairy” link on the homepage of your portal (under "My Overview"). From there, you can either click the "Shop Now" button to head straight to the chilled goods selection page, or you can manage your box as usual.
If your box is locked, that means your order is processing, but you can still add fridge items to your next scheduled order. Keep in mind that there is a minimum order requirement of $79 for fridge items. If your cart doesn’t reach this threshold, we won’t process the order or charge you, and anything in your cart will roll over to your next order.
For those items you buy regularly, like mince, milk, butter, or chicken, you can subscribe to have them added automatically to every order. If you prefer some items as a one-off and others as a subscription, that’s no problem—we’ve made it flexible for you!
Additionally, if your fridge order is under $110, there will be a small ice pack fee to keep everything cool, but if you reach the $110 threshold, we’ll waive that fee. You’ll even see a little sundial in your portal to track how close you are to meeting the threshold.
Finally, enjoy free shipping for orders over $175—so if you’re looking to stock up, it’s a great way to save on delivery!
The items in your fridge box apart from the seafood are delivered fresh, not frozen. All products have a best before date on the packaging.
We want to make sure you’re getting the best quality and flavour, so everything arrives ready to be stored in your fridge or freezer, depending on when you plan to use it.
All of our meat products are processed in our own facility to maintain the highest quality and freshness, allowing us to deliver straight from the farm to your door. Each cut is vacuum-sealed using Cryovac packaging, ensuring maximum freshness and a longer shelf life—giving you more time to enjoy every cut.
We also include ice gel bricks (cold packs) and pack everything in an insulated box to keep your products cool and fresh during their journey.
This careful packaging ensures that your fridge products arrive at the perfect temperature, ready to be stored and enjoyed.
While it’s not necessary to be home for delivery, we recommend that someone be available to bring the box inside to keep it at the right temperature.
If you’re not available, our delivery partners can leave the box in a safe, cool place for you. You’ll also receive SMS updates, so you’ll know exactly when your box is on its way and can plan accordingly.
Yes, your fridge box will arrive with your regular fruit and veg order, so you’ll get everything you need in one convenient delivery.
You'll also receive SMS updates if you have opted in for this. The boxes will look a little different, making it easy to tell which is your produce or pantry order, and which is your fridge box.
We aim to keep your order streamlined and fresh, so you can enjoy your full, sustainable haul in one go!
For optimal freshness, we recommend consuming seafood products within 72 hours after defrosting. However, if you don’t think you’ll be able to eat your seafood before the expiry date on the packaging, it’s best to freeze it as soon as possible. Freezing locks in the freshness at the time you freeze it, so the sooner the better if you're not planning to eat it right away.
As a general guide:
- Seafood: Consume within 72 hours of defrosting, and avoid refreezing once thawed.
- Other Frozen Items: Best used within 7 days of defrosting.
- Always check the "best before" or expiry date on the packaging and use your judgment based on how the product looks and smells once opened.
We take extra care to ensure your products arrive in top condition, using a complete cold chain process from farm to your door.
This includes processing in our own facility, transport in a refrigerated van, and careful packaging with insulated boxes and ice gel packs to keep everything cool and fresh.
