Day 1: Pear, Honey & Fetta Tart
Kick off our 12 Days of Christmas Recipes with something simple yet elegant. A Pear, Honey & Fetta Tart by @mamanutrition that looks impressive but takes barely any effort (our favourite combo).
Using sweet, in-season pears from our Aussie farmers, this tart hits that perfect balance of creamy, salty and caramelised. It’s budget-friendly, quick to prep, and ideal for holiday hosting when you want to wow your guest.
Pro tip: Make two. One for the table… and one for you.
Ingredients
-
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed if frozen
- 2 small pears, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup Persian fetta or soft goat’s cheese, crumbled
- 2 tbsp pine nuts
- A few sprigs fresh thyme or rosemary
- 1–1½ tbsp honey (to taste)
- Pinch of sea salt
Directions
Preheat your oven to 180°C (fan). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Lay the pastry sheet on the tray. Using a fork, prick the centre lightly, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange the pear slices evenly over the pastry, then scatter with the fetta, pine nuts and herbs. Drizzle with honey and season lightly with salt.
- Bake for around 20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden and the pears are tender.
- Allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
