Grown seasonally in the sub tropical climate of the Nimbin Valley, Marlivale Farm relies on natural rainfall to feed their dryland rice fields and grow the hardy, staple grain you see here.Marlivale Farm grow two varieties of rice in their fields in Goolmangar, with this white rice being their polished Tachiminori variety. This is polished leaving about 10% bran on the grain for quick cooking and still a slight nutty taste. This medium grain rice, Tachiminori, is a Japanese upland variety. This variety of rice holds it’s structure when cooking, leading to a firm bite and is their most versatile rice, great for sushi to salads, and everything in-between. Keep in the fridge or freezer and enjoy within twelve months.
